Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe are an award-winning writing and directing team based in Los Angeles. They met performing on a house team together at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. They became writing partners in the summer of 2015, founded Gulp Splash Productions, and have since written and produced three short films, the most recent of which they directed. Their first short, "Greener Grass", is currently airing on Canal + in France, Spain and Africa. They received the Special Jury Recognition for Writing at SXSW 2016. Jocelyn and Dawn are currently in development on a feature film they wrote and will direct, going into production in 2017. They are honing a voice that combines absurdist dark comedy with the emotional tenor of a mid-century melodrama that explores the fragility of human behavior in a domestic setting. They like to joke that they are pioneers of a hot new genre they’ve coined “melodramedy”.
